(KUALA LUMPUR – 26th February 2018) Malaysia International Film Festival had finally concluded the grand opening ceremony at TGV Cinemas, Sunway Velocity on 10 pm yesterday. The opening ceremony received many support from several artists including Serene Lim, Jojo Goh, Fabian Loo together with Ruby Yap and Eric Chen. The ambassador SinJe Lee and the program director, Gloria Yip has attended the event as well to witness the successfulness of the 2nd Malaysia International Film Festival opening ceremony.

The chairman of the film festival, Joanne Goh expressed, “This is a golden opportunity to Malaysian as it provides a better platform to showcase of emerging talent in film industry as well as gives audiences an insight into the creative process behind film production and to inspire the next generation of filmmaking talent.”

Besides, the organizer has also announced the Malaysia International Film Festival Short Film Competition winner – Samudera from the young and talented director, Aiman Ariffin. Former Director General of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS), Dato’ Fauzi Ayob, and the short film juries, Gloria Yip and Kaze Ng had presented the trophy to the short film winner. After the opening ceremony, all the guests have proceed to the cinema to watch the opening film, “Love Education”.

Malaysia International Film Festival is to build a unique experience of Malaysian arts and culture to a world-wide audience. The film festival will be held from 25th February to 2nd March 2018 at Sungei Wang.
