The 5th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) and the Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) 2022 held a press conference to announce the nomination list for the MGGA 2022. The festival also announced that Tourism Malaysia will be joining on board as the festival supporting partner. The Indian film ‘Two Friends’ was nominated in five categories, and the two main casts of the film, Arif Shaikh (age 10) as Safikul and Asik Shaikh (age 9) as Palash, were jointly nominated for the Malaysia Golden Global Awards’ Best Actor award, making them the youngest nominees of the awards ceremony.

The 5th Malaysia Golden Global Awards 2022 announced the award winners of the year. The Iranian film ‘Drowning in Holy Water’ directed by Navid Mahmoudi won the best film award. The child actors Arif Shaikh and Asik Shaikh from ‘Two Friends’ were awarded the Best Actors, whereas Laure Calamy from ‘Full Time’ won the Best Actress Award.
