Synopsis

Singapore, 1994: Ah Girl is a precocious 7-year-old just starting primary school. Since her parents separated, she lives in a small flat with her boyish younger sister, Ah Tian (5), her taciturn Dad who works night shifts, and her irritable Grandmother who is in charge of the kids. One night, Mum asks Ah Girl to choose to live with her, and although she wants to please Mum, Ah Girl struggles with this huge decision. We journey with Ah Girl, navigating the confusing world of adults as she’s forced to grow up far too quickly.
