Synopsis
Set in the late 1980’s. Fuki is a 11-year-old girl living in Tokyo, whose father Keiji, is in and out of hospital, while her mother, Utako, is constantly stressed out from caring for Keiji and holding down a full-time job. Left alone with her rich imagination, she spends her summer peeking into the world of adults.

Chie’s short film “Niagara” was selected for 67th Cannes International Film Festival Cinéfondation in 2014 and went on to win Grand Prix at Pia Film Festival. In 2018, she wrote and directed one of the stories of “Ten Years Japan” which was creatively supervised by Hirokazu Koreeda. That short story was restructured into Chie’s first feature “PLAN 75,” which won the Camera d’or Special Mention award at the 75th Cannes International Film Festival. Her sophomore feature, “Renoir” was selected for 78th Cannes International Film Festival and was highly praised from critics around the world.
