Malaysia International Film Festival and Malaysia Golden Global Awards Press Conference and Asian Film Summit in Qingdao, China
QINGDAO, 28 October 2016 – Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFEST) will be held from February 28th, 2017 to March 4th, 2017 at Nu Sentral Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur while Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) will be held on March 5th, 2017 at the Arena of Stars, Genting Highland. This first time international renowned event is highly supported by National Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).
MIFFEST and MGGA have collaborated with Qingdao Creative Cultural Film & Television Industry Group Ltd. A press conference was held to introduce the event globally on October 28th, 2016 at Qingdao Wanda Le Meridien Hotel. MIFFEST and MGGA Chairman, Ms. Joanne Goh also signed a contract with Mr. Wang Bin, Director of Qingdao Creative Cultural Film & Television Industry Group Ltd, to proclaim it as the event Co-Organizer, witnessed by YBhg Dato’ Kamil Othman, General Director of National Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS). MIFFEST and MGGA have credited iQIYI as the Official WebTV in the presence of Ms. Candy, Marketing Director of iQIYI. MIFFEST and MGGA are proud to announce that Jaeger-LeCoultre, the renowned luxury watch brand will be the official timepiece and Wheelcorp Premium BMW is the official automobile for this event.
There were more than 20 countries’ film being submitted to this film festival as of today where the committee members will choose 10 to compete for the awards and another 15 films for public screening, non-competitive category. MIFFEST and MGGA are very honoured to be assisted by Mr. Paolo Bertolin from Italy, Mr. Jeremy Segay from France and Mr. Wen Tien Hsiang from Taiwan. At the same time, MIFFEST and MGGA are honoured to invite Malaysian actress, Miss Angelica Lee as the ambassador. Also present during the press conference included representatives from Wanda Media, Huayi Brothers Media Corp., Hong Kong Media Asia Film and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
Asian Film Summit took place after the press conference where several topics were deliberated and covered by Film Director Mr. Daniel Lee and Mr. Zhao Ningyu, Famous Artiste Manager Ms. Wang Jinghua, Film Producer Ms. Zeng Peishan and Mr. Paolo Bertolin in the forum.
